Why Root Out Solutions Exists?
Throughout my career working with landowners, agencies, and conservation partners across more than 1.5 million acres of public and private land, I observed a common challenge.
Many people cared deeply about their land but struggled to understand the ecological processes shaping it. They were often presented with management recommendations before they fully understood what was happening on their property.
Questions about invasive species, habitat improvement, woodland transition, biodiversity, and long-term stewardship can quickly become overwhelming.
Root Out Solutions was created to help bridge that gap.
Over time, I realized that many landowners were facing the same challenges I observed throughout my professional career. They cared deeply about their land, but often lacked access to the guidance needed to understand ecological change and navigate competing recommendations. Root Out Solutions was created to provide that guidance through observation, interpretation, planning, and long-term stewardship support.
My goal is not simply to recommend actions. It is to help landowners develop the understanding, clarity, and confidence needed to make informed stewardship decisions for the future of their land.

Root Out Solutions conducts comprehensive property assessments and supports strategic stewardship planning that helps landowners confidently manage improvements, reduce costly mistakes, and build a resilient long-term vision for their land.
We help landowners, agencies, and managers confidently plan, implement and oversee land improvement projects. Root Out Solutions complements contractors, foresters, arborists, and restoration professionals by helping landowners clarify goals and develop stewardship strategies before implementation begins.

Meet Kayla!
I founded Root Out Solutions after nearly a decade leading landscape-scale ecological management programs in Colorado.
As County Noxious Weed Program Director, I worked across more than 1.5 million acres of public and private land, collaborating with landowners, local governments, conservation organizations, state and federal agencies, and nonprofit partners to address complex ecological challenges.
My work included developing vegetation management strategies, securing and managing grant funding, coordinating diverse stakeholder interests, evaluating ecological conditions, and helping people make informed decisions about the future of their land.
Along the way, I learned that successful stewardship is rarely about finding a single "right" answer.
Instead, it begins with observation, understanding, and a willingness to work with the ecological realities of a changing landscape.
